Marsden Volleyball Club Up-coming Dates

As usual we will be having a break in both grades of Volleyball over the Festive season, below are the final 2006 dates and the 2007 start up dates.

• Last Game 2006 – Social Grade:  Monday 18^th December

• Last Game 2006 – Competitive Grade: Tuesday 19^th December

• First Games Back 2007 – Social Grade: 2^nd Monday in January

• First Games Back 2007 – Competitive Grade: 2^nd Tuesday in January

Another important date to diary into your calendars will be our finals weekend.

This year our club finals will be held on the 3rd Saturday in March, this is always a fun day with prize-giving and a fun breakup night to follow.

Our next Marsden Volleyball club meeting will be held at the Reunion Hotel on the Thursday the 14^th December at 7.30pm. All teams are welcome to attend and anyone who would like direct involvement in the direction of the sport and club would be welcome.  We do request that all competitive teams have representative at the meetings.

An important message to all social teams, if you are not going to be able to umpire, you need to let the Draw Official Ken Ricards know as teams have been let down when no-one has turned up to umpire.

On a final note – the season has been going very well, with a high standard of sportsmanship. The climbing wall which is going up in the Civic Center has meant we have had to change the draw, but this will be up early next year and will be an asset to Greymouth, so we would like to thank all the teams for there understanding.

Events

Monteiths West Coast Challenge

Early next year sees teams visiting the Coast to take part in the first Monteiths West Coast Volleyball Challenge. Teams from Canterbury and Marlborough will contest with a Greymouth side to see who will take home the Jade Trophy. The visiting teams are Pioneer from Christchurch and Marlborough Men. Both these sides have just finished there seasons so will have much more team cohesion as apposed to the Greymouth side who have only played in one tournament this year, that being Queens birthday weekend in Christchurch. The Draw for this weekend is as follows.
